Currently we have an immediate opportunity for an Account Support Manager (ASM) to join our Mission Critical Service Team. Based in Brisbane, you will be responsible for delivering technical and operational guidance to Hewlett Packard customers who have purchased Mission Critical Support for part or their entire technology environment.

The ASM’s primary objective is to provide value-added technical delivery and account management in order to achieve business outcomes through the adoption of a proactive mindset, which facilitates customer loyalty.  In a Critical Services environment, the ASM will be driven to ensure that the customer’s environment delivers the highest possible availability through proactive planning and change management to ensure a minimum of unscheduled outages, and by co-ordinating and escalating reactive workload to ensure that problems are rapidly and effectively resolved.
Each ASM will be responsible for delivery of services in accordance with the Mission Critical Services Portfolio as outlined within the service delivery guides or as agreed with their manager and the customer. This will usually include the formation of the Account Support Plan, delivery of technical and performance review meetings, leading the Customer toward adoption of IT best practices around an ITIL framework including active participation in the Customer's change management planning, provision of technical advice and consultancy. The ASM will become the Customer's "Trusted Adviser".


Qualifications
To be successful in this role we are looking for a graduate who has completed their tertiary study within the last two years and who ideally has a mix of business/management and IT skills; with the confidence, drive and ambition to consistently exceed customer expectations in service delivery.
With exceptional presentation and communication skills, you will build relationships easily and enjoy a challenging and varied role.

Previous experience with project management, planning and budgetary skills would be an advantage, however they are not mandatory, as you will have the chance to be mentored by senior colleagues who will provide you with further technical training.

-Qualifications

I recently completed the Bachelor of Computing and Information Science Degree at the University of SA (April 19th 2007). I majored in Java/Oracle programming and project management in IT environment. Please refer to the qualification section of my resume for the courses I undertook in each stream.

-Excellent Communication & People Skills

I consider myself as a friendly and helpful person. During the university study I volunteered the new student mentor role in the computer and IS school and had successfully helped the new students familiarising with the university study environment, as well as I organised some social events for them to build up their social networks. My achievement in the mentor role was acknowledged by the school - Our photo is shown on the front page of the school website at www.cis.unisa.edu.au (CISquest section).

I'm confident in dealing with people.

-Experience in Project Planning and Budgeting

During my university study I had experiences in project planning and budgeting in two courses:

Information System Project Management: I used MS Project 2003 for estimating the budget  for the Assignments Lodgement System program developed for this course. I collaborated with other 3 students and updated the budget with the development process. I learnt budgeting based on customers' requirements.

Entrepreneurial Enterprises: I planned for the 'Whyalla Mobile Munchie Van' service in detail with the assistance of other 3 group members. I was mainly working on the market (size, layers etc.) part of the feasibility plan.

I realise that there are many important skills that are not taught in the university, and working for HP would further enhance my abilities in communicating with clients, as well as collaborating with colleagues from different departments. I believe that my competency in learning new technologies and ability to adapt into new environment quickly will assist me becoming ready for this role in a shorter time. On the other hand I will have the opportunity to contribute my knowledge in programming, SDLC and project management that I have learnt in my degree, to the team/client base I will be working with.

Currently I'm based in Adelaide but will be happy to move to Brisbane. I have applied for the permanent visa and legal to commence full time work now. The visa is expected to be granted by August/September. I look forward to hear back from you.
