Chinese + English = Chinglish?
David Lean
In preparation for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the Chinese are working to ensure that English-speaking tourists will be able to read their Chinese signs. The outcome, in many cases, is the fusion of both languages, which the Chinese call "Chinglish."
Crab is frequently misspelled on menus across China, unfortunately as "Crap."
Crab(螃蟹)在中国经常被错拼,不幸的是总拼成Crap(废物)。
Yet another misuse of the food, Crab at a menu in Beijing. This time, what is intended is "Crabmeat," not "Crapmeat."
This menu was picked up at a Restaurant in Guilin, China. As you can see, there are several strange dishes that appear, like Screw Meat, which is meant as snail meat and "The Hand Rips Beef," which is intended as shredded beef.
