       如果说《美国美人》掘开了美国中年中产阶级灵魂的坟墓，那么《搏击俱乐部》则直指他们的下一代。它通过颠覆性的主题，揭示了世纪末社会文化交叉点上的尴尬与矛盾，它是世纪末新生一代的精神图腾。
　　“搏击俱乐部的法则之一，不能谈论搏击俱乐部；搏击俱乐部的法则之二，不能谈论搏击俱乐部。”布拉德．彼特的原则取消了我们的话语权利，他想要传递的是一种不可言传也不必言传的精神意志，这种意志唯有通过在灵与肉的搏击中的自我毁灭才能承传下去。

　　在一个平庸的时代里，没有动荡与变革来证明自己的出众才智，缺乏精神领袖而丧失灵魂皈依的源动力。我们都在麻木地饰演自己的社会角色，忠诚地履行自己的社会责任，而事实上大多数人都无法理解自己所为之奋斗的目标究竟是什么。上学，工作，恋爱，结婚，生子，生老病死，一切都是按部就班。这些正是爱德华．诺顿在影片上半部分花了将近半个小时所要演绎的空虚怅惘的精神状态。而这种精神状态所要面临的是斗争或是妥协的两难抉择，于是彼特所饰演泰勒．德顿作为诺顿分裂人格的另一面出现在影片中，并且作为精神领袖带领着一代人进行着颠覆传统颠覆自我的搏击。彼特所领导的这场精神革命的任务不仅仅是要颠覆传统的生活模式，他首先面临的任务是要颠覆这一代软弱的男性角色的阉割意识（在影片里，这种阉割意识有四个象征元素：睾丸癌症幸存者；鲍勃的大乳房；麻木有序却无需雄性荷尔蒙提升的了无生机的现代工作方式；片中唯一女性角色玛拉随时可能产生的不可预料的影响），因此他选择了暴力作为手段，意图带领这群精神的阉割者重新夺回人的自然本色。在这场革命里，布拉德．彼特就是基督，就是上帝。

     彼特的理想慢慢成为现实，整个世界都在宣泄，都在革命。可是当人们找寻自然本色的过程中，随着欲望的不断成长，彼特领导的搏击俱乐部成了不可思议的暴力组织并且达到了不可遏制的地步。当人的暴力本能和欲望本能被唤醒的时候，即使是魅力十足的彼特这个精神领袖也无法阻止自己走向极端。搏击俱乐部本身是对暴力本能的歌颂，也是对暴力本能的诅咒，而彼特的革命最终也只能以妥协而告终，于是我们不得不质疑毁灭是否真的能带来新生？

　　《搏击俱乐部》由于其现实的暴力描写以及含糊的叙述方式，评论界对它可谓毁誉参半。但是我认为不能因为它表现手段的反叛而否定它主题存在的价值，“人的存在方式”是一个永恒的命题。
